About This Blend
The Floral Tea Collection is a celebration of the garden in a cup. Five of herbalism's most beloved blossoms come together in a blend that is visually stunning, delicately fragrant, and gently nourishing. Whether brewed hot or cold, this collection makes a tea that is as beautiful to look at as it is to drink.
What's Inside
- Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) — Intensely aromatic and calming, lavender brings a distinctive floral perfume and a gentle nervine quality to the blend. Use with a light hand — its flavor is potent and can easily dominate.
- Rose Petals (Rosa spp.) — Softly sweet and elegantly fragrant, rose petals add a romantic, velvety quality to the cup. Rich in antioxidants and traditionally associated with heart and emotional wellness.
- Marigold (Calendula) (Calendula officinalis) — Bright golden petals with a mild, slightly resinous flavor. Calendula adds warmth and color to the blend and is prized for its gentle support of skin and digestion.
- Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) — Apple-scented and softly sweet, chamomile forms the gentle, calming base of this blend. Its mild flavor ties the more assertive florals together beautifully.
- Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) — Tart, jewel-red calyces that add a bold splash of color and a bright, cranberry-like acidity. Balances the sweetness of rose and chamomile with a lively tartness.
How to Blend
For a balanced floral blend, start with these proportions:
- 3 parts Chamomile
- 2 parts Rose Petals
- 2 parts Hibiscus
- 1 part Calendula
- ½ part Lavender
Mix gently and store in an airtight jar away from light and heat. Keeps well for up to 12 months. Increase hibiscus for more tartness and color, or add more rose petals for a sweeter, more fragrant cup. Go easy on the lavender — a little goes a long way.
Preparation Directions
Hot Floral Tea: Use 1–2 teaspoons of blend per 8 oz of just-boiled water. Cover and steep for 5–7 minutes — covering is essential to preserve the delicate aromatic oils. Strain and enjoy as-is or with a light drizzle of honey. The brew will be a beautiful rose-pink to deep ruby depending on hibiscus ratio.
Iced Floral Tea: Brew a double-strength batch using 2–3 teaspoons per 8 oz of hot water. Steep 7 minutes covered, strain, and pour over a full glass of ice. Garnish with a fresh rose petal or lemon slice for a stunning presentation.
Cold Brew: Add 2–3 tablespoons of blend to a quart of cold water. Refrigerate for 8–12 hours. Strain and serve over ice. Cold brewing softens the tartness of hibiscus and draws out the more delicate floral notes of rose and lavender beautifully.
