Summer Iced Tea Bundle
Details
About This Blend
The Summer Iced Tea Bundle is a vibrant, refreshing collection of herbs made for warm days and tall glasses of ice. Tart, floral, cooling, and naturally beautiful in color — this blend is as stunning to look at as it is to drink. Perfect for pitchers, popsicles, and everything in between.
What's Inside
- Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) — The star of the blend. Deep ruby-red calyces with a bold, cranberry-like tartness and a stunning natural color. Rich in antioxidants and vitamin C.
- Peppermint (Mentha × piperita) — Bright and cooling, peppermint adds a refreshing lift that makes this blend especially satisfying over ice. A natural complement to fruity herbs.
- Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) — Delicate citrus fragrance with a gentle, calming quality. Softens the tartness of hibiscus and adds a light, summery sweetness.
- Rose Petals (Rosa spp.) — Floral and subtly sweet, rose petals add an elegant, aromatic dimension to the blend. Look for food-grade petals free of pesticides.
- Elderberries (Sambucus nigra) — Deep purple and rich in antioxidants, elderberries add a fruity, wine-like depth and a beautiful color boost. Traditionally used for immune support.
How to Blend
For a well-balanced summer blend, start with these proportions:
- 3 parts Hibiscus
- 2 parts Elderberries
- 2 parts Lemon Balm
- 1 part Peppermint
- 1 part Rose Petals
Mix and store in an airtight jar away from direct sunlight. Keeps well for up to 12 months. Add more hibiscus for deeper color and tartness, or more lemon balm for a softer, sweeter cup.
Preparation Directions
Classic Iced Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 3–4 tablespoons of blend, remove from heat, cover, and steep for 10 minutes. Strain into a pitcher, add 2–4 more cups of cold water, and refrigerate. Serve over ice with a slice of lemon or a sprig of fresh mint. Sweeten with simple syrup or honey to taste.
Cold Brew: Add 3–4 tablespoons of blend to a quart jar of cold water. Refrigerate for 8–12 hours or overnight. Strain and serve over ice. Cold brewing produces a smoother, less astringent flavor — especially nice with the rose petals and lemon balm.
Sparkling Herbal Soda: Brew a strong concentrate using 4 tablespoons per 8 oz of hot water. Steep 10 minutes, strain, and cool. Mix 1 part concentrate with 2–3 parts sparkling water over ice. Add a squeeze of lime for a festive, alcohol-free summer drink.
